Thank you for your question, and thank you for applying to Cheshire Academy. Founded in 1794, we are one of the oldest boarding schools in the United States and have a storied history of academic excellence.

One of the things that is great about working or studying at Cheshire Academy, is that we have a wide variety of students from all over the world, and they bring with them a wide variety of interests and talents.

Last night, for instance, I brought my children to see our school musical, and it was amazing and so great to see the joy on the actors' faces as they sang and danced and performed. If theater is your thing, we have a space for you, but if its not, that's okay too.

We also have a very competitive math team, and are currently ranked within the top 5 of private high schools on the New England Math Competitions. Some of our most talented students attend competitions at Yale or Harvard, but again, if that is not your think, that's OKAY too!

Academically, we start our 9th grade students with a Freshman Seminar course and end in the 12th grade with the International Baccalaureate. Both programs are interdisciplinary by design and encourage our students to THINK as opposed to memorize. Alumni constantly reflect back on their academic experiences at CA and comment on how well it has prepared them for University and beyond. We are quite confident that you will feel the same way.
