暑期孩子会有两个月左右的阅读空档期，容易造成阅读能力的退步，这就是知名的 “暑期学习滑坡期”，这也是学校布置阅读和其他暑假作业的主要原因之一。暑期阅读的重要性不言而喻：能让孩子在放假时也能保持学习状态，顺利过渡到下个学期的开学。

那么如何选择暑期阅读的英文书单呢？专注辅导K-12阅读的【猫头鹰阅读俱乐部】为我们带来了独家解读。

"在阅读难度的鉴别方面，家长和同学们可以参考蓝思（Lexile）指数。Lexile®蓝思阅读框架由Metametrics®公司创建，用于衡量一篇文章或书本相对于读者的阅读难度。与一般按年龄划分的阅读指标不同，蓝思指数是定量的，测量范围从200L以下到1700L以上，可以用于测量读者的阅读能力，也可以用于测量一篇文章或书本的文本难度。"

备注：Lexile（一般简写为L）是标示难易程度时使用的单位

"如果孩子对一本有关美国内战的书十分感兴趣，但这本书如果远远超出了适合他的蓝思指数，可能就不太适合孩子阅读，因为书中的语言会太过晦涩，难以理解。因此，在孩子的阅读兴趣和蓝思指数之间找到平衡点，能保证孩子既有动力又有能力完成自己的暑期阅读计划。"
